DESCRIPTION
QuickMix® Base Grey (380) is a polymer-modified water-resistant cementitious Skim Coat (Base Coat). It contains additives that improve workability, consistency, water retentivity and adhesion. It is specially formulated to be used as undercoat on concrete surfaces and block walls. It is also suitable for surface improvement on cement rendered surfaces. IT SHOULD NOT BE USE ON PAINTED SURFACES
TYPICAL USES
- Skim Coat (Base Coat) for plastered wall, block wall, concrete wall and ceiling to smooth out uneven, rough surface.
- Suitable to be used for internal and external application to achieve good flatness.
- Highly recommended for project with QLASSIC / CONQUAS / BQUAS requirement.
- The surface can be further smoothened with Skim Coat (Top Coat) – QuickMix® QuickSkim (388).

SURFACE PREPARATION
- All surfaces must be clean, free from dust, oil and any trace of foreign materials.
- Wall surface defects exceeding 5mm may be patched with QuickMix® Thin Plaster Series (386+ or 386), or QuickMix® QuickRender Series (387+ or 387).
- For dry or high absorbing substrates, moisten the surfaces with water prior to application.

MIXING
- Mix one bag (25kg) of QuickMix® Base Grey (380) with approximately 6.5 litres of clean water; OR Mix one bag (40kg) of QuickMix® Base Grey (380) with approximately 10.4 litres of clean water.
- Mix thoroughly with an electrical mixer for 3-5 minutes until the desired homogeneous mortar is achieved.
- Ensure the mix is free from lumps before use.
- Remix for 1 minute if the mix mortar is left unused for more than 30 minutes.

APPLICATION
- QuickMix® Base Grey (380) is applied onto the surface with a steel trowel.
- If application requires a few layers, the underneath layers must be dry before applying the subsequent layers.

PACKAGING
- QuickMix® Base Grey (380) is packed into two sizes, 25kg bags and 40kg bags.

STORAGE & SHELF LIFE
- QuickMix® Base Grey (380) in its original packing, when stored in a sheltered dry place that is free from excessive moisture, shall have a shelf life of 6 months from its date of manufacture. Customers is encouraged to use the product promptly to avoid possibility of storage related contamination.

HEALTH & SAFETY
QuickMix® Base Grey (380) is non-hazardous. However, Lafarge Drymix recommends that appropriate safety equipment to be worn by workers when handling this product, including dust masks, rubber gloves, fuII eye protection and boots where necessary. In case of contact with eyes, wash with plenty of water. If irritation persists, seek immediate medical attention. For further information, refer to the Safety Data Sheet.
